Antiques

This past weekend, I went to visit Antique Archaeology in LeClaire, Iowa.  For those of you who, like me, enjoy watching the History Channel, you may recognize it as the home of the American Pickers!  I live actually quite close to their base, so it's crazy that I just now got there!

The warehouse was surprisingly small, but it was just full of amazing things!

After Antique Archaeology, I did a bit more antique shopping in LeClaire!

I got some simply adorable 1960's jewelry.

This necklace isn't vintage, but is just too amazing to pass up!

Masquerade Ball

  Last weekend, my university had their annual Masquerade Ball!  I was in Spain last year, so I wasn't able to go, making this year's ball extra-exciting!  The theme this year was a black-and-white ball, although my dress had some gold in it.  I do like to stand out a bit.  :D

These flowers were so cute - they're two chocolate kisses wrapped up!

I made my mask!  I kept mainly with the black-and-white theme, but put a bit of gold over the eyes to match the colours in my dress.

My dress is from the 1970's!  That lace detail is so gorgeous, yet it was somewhat painful.  Over a week later, and I still have marks around my neck from the collar!

The button-up neck and keyhole back are just lovely!

Obligatory Introduction

  Hello!  I have decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon and share some of my obsessions with the internet!  I absolutely adore vintage fashion,  as should be obvious from the blog's name.  Unfortunately, I am an average university student without any generous wealthy relative, so I have to hunt for vintage finds which I can afford.  I'll be posting about my strategies for finding good vintage items, as well as showing off the things I do find! 

Apart from vintage clothing, this blog will feature other fashions, possibly including some outfits I  make myself!  I love to take ridiculous amounts of photos, so expect to see many!  I hope to be able to connect with other fashion lovers (as well as other nerds) out there! 

Expect a proper update tomorrow!  I went antique shopping today and found a few good things!
